Prayer Walk

Lou and Kathy prayer walk in the rain

A tradition started the first year is a prayer walk around the park, starting on the Sunday before through Friday at 7:00 PM each night. We walk, rain or shine! Anyone with an interest in the event is invited to attend.

Why did this tradition start? See Joshua 6:1-27.

I had a vision of the Battle of Jericho and how God told Joshua “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days.” And on the seventh day “march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse…On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!”

To us, this is spiritual warfare! We march around the area of the park each night praying for the event, the people that will attend, the volunteers and musicians. We claim that ground as Holy Ground for God’s Spirit to dwell there. And on the seventh day, after a time of prayer in the morning before the event starts, the trumpets and musicians shout and sing praises to our King.

We believe walls will fall down!

We believe for healings, both physical and spiritual. We believe that God’s presence will touch those in the park. We believe for breakthroughs.

And because of all the prayer that goes into the event before it happens, God’s presence does fill the park and people have been blessed!
